Bright Future

Hello everyone!
I was just thinking to myself and I can't believe summers almost over. We've only got another month left! Although I am very much looking forward to my last year of high school. It will definitely be bittersweet, but I'm definitely going to make the most of it. I am really happy with the way things are currently turning out in my life. I have been trying to plan out the rest of my future for a while now, and I definitely think I've got it figured out and I am so excited. I am so happy because this summer has been absolutely amazing in every single way! I finally have a best friend again, and to be honest I haven't really had a close friend in a while. My best friend and I do absolutely everything together and she has made this summer one to remember. I was also kind of sad to think that today was my last day of summer marching band, ever... tomorrow we have our last parade and that's actually quite depressing. I mean, our last parade until we go to California that is. We also get to find out who the 2015-2016 drum majors are tomorrow and I can't wait! No, I did not try out. I didn't feel comfortable with it.
Anyways, I'm just really looking forward to the rest of this year because I've got some really fun things planned. In October, I am going to New York City with my family for the first time and I am very excited. My dad and I were planning the trip the other day and I seriously can't wait! Another thing I am looking forward to is my last year of cross country and marching band. Both of those will be very bittersweet to leave, because I have been a part of band for the past 4 years. It's the thing I stuck with all of high school, and I have met some hopefully life long friends through it. I have made memories that I will remember forever and I couldn't be more grateful.
I'm sorry for kind of being all over the place in this blog, it just felt good to ramble. Sometimes that's what you need, is a good ramble. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this blog even though it was pretty boring. Until next time! -Kersten

Meet The Author

Hello everyone!
I'm so sorry a blog didn't go up yesterday, I just got busy with a few things and I didn't really have the time to write up a blog post. I had to work all morning and some of the afternoon, so that took up most of my day. But I absolutely love my job so I don't mind at all. For those of you that don't know, I work at a restaurant. It's definitely something that I enjoy and I can see myself possibly going into restaurant management in the future sometime after college. Anyways, after work I went to the gym, and then I just relaxed for the rest of the night. So yeah, that was pretty much my day... more like my weekend, actually.
For this blog post I kind of just want to talk about myself, so my readers can get to know me a little better.
The main thing you should probably know about me is that I will be a senior in high school, and I am 17 years old. I have absolutely no idea what I want to do after high school, I don't even know where I want to go. My ACT score basically tells me that I'm too stupid to go to any University, so I might attend a community college so I can keep my job and make money. The college I want to attend is up in the city so I was thinking that after my first year I would get an apartment, and hopefully still have my job and maybe get an internship somewhere.
That's my main story. Some things I like to do in my free time (I have to much of it) is I like to run, because I am on the Cross Country running team, going into my second year. I started my junior year of high school and I absolutely love it. I also am in marching band, and I play the trombone. During my sophomore year of high school, we went to Florida over winter break and competed in a field show, marched in a parade, performed at the Gator Bowl, and we also marched in Disney World. It was probably the best thing I have ever done in my life. This winter break, we are actually going to California and we are participating in a bowl game in San Diego, and a field show or two. We are also marching in Disneyland, and I am very excited because I have never been there before. I have actually been to California multiple times and that's pretty surprising. We are also going to Los Angeles, and I'm so excited! I will definitely blog about it.
I think that's all I want to cover about myself, for now at least. I hope you enjoyed and have a wonderful Monday! Until next time. -Kersten

The Perfect Day

Summer is the time to do something that you might not have the time or motivation to do during the school year. It's the time to have fun, make memories, and just have the time of your life while you are soaking up all of that vitamin D. Make every day the best day that it can be! Go on an adventure. Try something new. Meet new people. Here are just a few ideas for having the perfect summer day.

Morning:
Ah, who doesn't love summer mornings. Am I right? Don't get me wrong I absolutely love sleeping in and that's pretty much what summer is for, but sometimes I just feel extremely lazy and unproductive if I don't get up at a decent time. Recently, I have been setting an alarm for about 10 or 11 A.M. just so I don't sleep the entire day. But most mornings, I have either marching band or cross country running practice so I usually get up at about 6 or 7:30, depending on the day. I always feel productive after having both of those practices. Anyways, here are a few things you can do to make your mornings productive.

-Eat a healthy breakfast (have some eggs, and maybe a side of fruit)
-Work out! You want that summer body, right? If you work out in the morning, it
will make you feel so much more productive and it will give you motivation for the
rest of your day, I promise
-Invite a friend to get coffee or go shopping (or both!)

Afternoon:
-Eat a healthy lunch, of course
-Hang out with a friend or two!
-Go shopping, go to the beach, go to a water park, etc.
the ideas are endless of things to do on a summer afternoon!

Evening:
Summer evenings are my absolute favorite. You can stay up as late as you want, and do pretty much whatever you want. Here are a few of my favorite ways to spend a summer evening:

-Have a bonfire with friends
-Go for a night time run or walk
-Binge watch a show on Netflix
-Have a movie night with friends

Again, the things to do on a summer day are endless, but hopefully this gave you at least a few ideas. I hope you all are having a wonderful summer! -Kersten

Also, take the time to watch the sunset! You won't regret it

Lazy Days

Hello everyone!
Sometimes a lazy day can feel amazing. Yesterday was one of those days for me, yet I still felt somewhat productive. I completely binge watched a ton of YouTube videos, which was something I haven't gotten to do for a while. I did that for most of the day, but I eventually went to the gym just so I could feel like I accomplished something. I absolutely love working out, it makes me feel so good afterwards and the results have definitely been showing it. I am also in Cross Country running, which helps me stay in shape a ton. I absolutely love being a part of that team.
Anyways, I also watched the movie The Wolf Of Wall Street last night but I didn't finish it because I ended up falling asleep. But can we just say, Leonardo DiCaprio is like the definition of perfection? Oh my Lord.
Today I am going to the Mall of America and I'm very excited about that, because I am definitely in need of some new clothes. And tonight I have to work, so ugh... that's just how I feel about that. Anyways, until next time! Have a wonderful day, XOXO.

Summer Activities

Hello everyone! I hope all of your summers have been going well, mine definitely has been!
I can definitely say this has been one of the best summers yet. A few recent things that I did that I thought were really cool was I went camping up on the North Shore, and it is absolutely gorgeous up there! I can definitely see myself living up there some day. Something else I recently did was I spent a day in Minneapolis with one of my best friends just because it is also very pretty up there, I absolutely love the city! Speaking of the city, I will be traveling to New York City this October which I am very excited about, so definitely look out for a blog about that! Anyways, one of the most recent things I have done which I was really happy about was I participated in a Color Run! They are extremely fun, I did one with my best friend and it couldn't have been better! I highly recommend doing one if you ever get the chance. Well I think that is all for now, until next time! XOXO

Two of my best friends and I at the Color Run!

After the color run!

The North Shore is gorgeous!

As you can tell, I was enjoying the beautiful view

How beautiful is this?

All you need is music

Lately I have been getting a lot into music. I've discovered music I never thought I would listen to. One of my best friends and I have been hanging out almost every day this summer and we always listen to music together, no matter what we're doing. Sometimes if we have absolutely nothing to do, we will just go driving around town with the windows down and music turned way up. So I just thought that I would share my top bands and albums that I have been listening to non stop lately.

1. Arctic Monkeys - AM

2. The Black Keys - Turn Blue

3. The Black Keys - Brothers

4. Cage The Elephant - Melophobia

5. Imagine Dragons - Smoke + Mirrors

6. Twenty One Pilots - Blurryface

7. The Vaccines- What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?

8. Walk The Moon - Talking Is Hard
